Energy Demand
Energy consumption per capita is approximately 1 toe/year, wich is the fourth lowest level among the Commonwealth of Independent States CIS and three times lower than the average. The country’s energy intensity is twice the EU average. The country’s total energy consumption has been quite stable since 1998, at around 3.5 Mtoe.

In 2016 Moldova's residential and tertiary sector continued to be the main consumers, with 51% of consumption, followed by transport (28%) and industry (21% including the non energy users).
