Energy Demand
The total consumption contracted by 2.4%/year between 2008 and 2015, but recovered until 2017 (+3.3%/year). It declined slightly 2017 to 2019 (-1.1%/year).
In 2020 consumption took a steep dive due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Data that show its recovery and possible rebound are yet to be published.

In 2020 35% were used in transport, 34% in the residential area and for agriculture, and 28% for industry. The rest, being 3%, went to non-energy uses.
Up to 2019, the transport sector accounted for the highest share of final consumption with 38%, followed by the residential sector with 30%, industry with 29% and non-energy uses with 3%. The deduced demand in 2020 through the COVID-19 pandemic is visible across all sectors.
