Feed-in tariffs

Both the FBiH and RS support the production of electricity from renewable sources via Feed-in Tariffs.

In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), the feed-in tariff is regulated by the RES Law FBiH and special Decrees and Rulebooks. The plant operators need to obtain the status of a „privileged power producer“ in order to acquire the right to a guaranteed price support for the generated electricity under the legal requirements. The power purchase agreements have a duration of 12 years.

In the Republic of Srpska (RS), the feed-in tariffs are regulated by the Energy Law RS, Electricity Law RS and above all, the RES Law RS and special Decrees and Rulebooks. The plant operator needs to obtain a RES Certificate and a Decision on the Right to Support by applying to the Energy Regulator. The Support Scheme Operator then concludes a power purchase agreement at a guaranteed price. The amount of the feed-in tariff is determined by the Energy Regulator. The power purchase agreements have a maximum duration of 15 years.
