Draft law on energy efficiency adopted by Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina

BiH as a member of the Energy Community has to comply with the acquis communautaire requesting the adoption of the law

According to the new law BiH will adopt the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency including measures for the improvement of energy efficiency. Among theses measures are the renovation and maintenance of public buildings and enterprises as well as the improvement of public services such as public lighting, water supply, waste management and transport. The law foresees the introduction of smart metering for energy consumption in private households and the implementation of energy management including training and education for enterprises.
The EU expressed to BiH its strong support for the adoption of the Law on Energy Efficiency. BiH is expecting support from the EU in order to be able to implement its energy efficiency projects.
