Romania: Subsidy Scheme for Low-Carbon Energy Producers

The Romanian Ministry of Energy is currently considering introducing a new subsidy scheme for the production of low-carbon electricity. This scheme would be modelled on the contracts for difference (CFD) mechanism, where low-carbon electricity producers are paid a small sum, if the price of electricity on the market drops below a certain agreed-upon threshold.
