Investment of $649 million in solar development throughout the year of 2017 in Hungary

The global investment in new power generation was dominated by solar energy like never before in 2017, as the Global Trends in Renewable Energy Investment Report 2018 states, which was published on April 5th by UN Environment, the Frankfurt School-UNEP Collaborating Centre, and Bloomberg New Energy Finance. Hungary was seeing an investment jump to $649 million in solar development throughout the year of 2017, which also marks the first time that the progress in renewable power genearation made by Hungary was mentioned in this report. The transformation of the support schemes, the reduction of installation and technology costs also contributed to the increase of the number of installed new generating capacity. In the light of the installed capacity it is expected that the total amount of installed capacity will achieve 1000 MW in two years.
