Montenegro: Montenegrin Government to invite offers for solar plant project

The Government of Montenegro invited bidders for a 30-year lease to a 6,621,121 m2 of state-owned land on the Briska Gora site in the municipality of Ulcinj to design a solar plant with an installed capacity of more than 200 MW.

The new solar power plant aims to raise the level of renewable energy sources for the production of power, which will be a significant element in the supply system benefitting the consumers. The construction of the solar plant will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will build at least 50 MW of capacity within 18 months of signing the land lease agreement, and the second phase will finish the remaining capacity within 36 months of the signature. The minimum required bid for the solar plant project is EUR 0.05/m2 a year, or a total of some EUR 331,056 annually. The government will give the opportunity of signing a contract on the guaranteed purchase of electricity under market conditions to the best bidder. The deadline for submitting bids is 3.09.2018.
