Romania receives EUR 7.1 Million for Six Renewable Projects

Funding for six new renewable energy projects within the R006 Renewable Energy Program.

Romania recently received EUR 7.1 million (approximately 30 million lei) for six new renewable energy projects within the R006 Renewable Energy Program (Rondine), which was funded as part of the European Economic Area-EEA Grants 2009 – 2014. Though Romania has already reached its 2020 RES target, it continues to invest in further projects that aim to cut greenhouse gas emissions through the promotion of renewable energy sources. The funded projects will focus mainly on expanding Romania's micro-hydropower and geothermal potential.
