One step towards decarbonisation in Romania

More than 50% of electricity were provided by renewable sources on two consecutive days in August (Romania)

Grid operator Transelectrica measured at 10:30 that more than 50% of  electricity production came from hydro and wind whereas coal had a share of 18 percent.
Investments in renewable energies showed a considerable increase in the past few years due to a generous support scheme based on green certificates.
After the reduction of incentive schemes by the government in 2013 investors had to face losses of around EUR 2 billion.
