Renewable energy accounts for 14% of total electricity consumption of Estonia in Q3

Q3 renewables consumption of Estonia made up 14% of total electricity consumption

Total production of renewable energy amounted up to 278 GWh.

The share of renewables in the first nine months of the year was 16,2% compared to 14% in the first nine months of last year.

Wind power made up 39% of total renewable production in the second quarter. The financial support for wind energy grew by 7% compared to the payment in the second quarter of last year.

Renewable energy production from biomass, biogas and waste made up 60% of all renewable energy production (Q3). Electricity produced from biomass, biogas and waste received 7,8 Mio EUR of subsidies (also Q3).

Solar energy received subsidies of about 2,5 as much, compared to last year, totalling 648 MWh of solar power that were fed into the grid.
