Macedonia establishes 36,8 MW wind park

Macedonian state-owned power producer ELEM put into operation the first wind park in the country after it had successfully passed trials.

The wind park is expected to produce over 100 GWh a year, enough to meet the needs of some 60.000 people, and comprises 16 wind turbines. The wind turbines were produced by Siemens’ Danish unit.

The project's value is 55 million Euro.

German development bank KfW loaned 47,9 million Euro for the cost of the project, while the remaining 7,6 million Euro came from the own financial resources of the state owned utility ELEM.
