Belarus and its renewable energy legislation
Experts are now studying the economic efficiency of projects which were financed within the framework of the Belarus Sustainable Energy Finance Facility (BelSEFF) program. The financing of the project can be intensified in the future because BelSEFF is an innovative project for Belarus. It is possible that the program will be continued and the financing may be expanded in the future.
BelSEFF envisages loans in the amount of up to $50 million to sponsor energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. The EBRD’s financing of 47 projects has already reached $17.2 million. Belarus Sustainable Energy Finance Facility has been implemented in the country since 2012.
