Renewable Action Plan Ukraine

After adoption of Directive 2009/28/EC by the Ministerial Council of the Energy Community Ukraine, as a Contracting Party of the Energy Community, was requested to adopt a National Renewable Energy Action Plan.

In February 2014 the Secretariat of the Energy Community had opened a case for 5 countries, among which Ukraine, for failure to comply with Energy Community law related to renewable energy. In November 2014 the Secretariat closed its pending case against Ukraine. As a consequence to the Secretariat's opening letter Ukraine had adopted the National Renewable Energy Action Plan on 1 October 2014. The NREAP of Ukraine is published on the Energy Community Website. Ukraine was thus successful in implementing its Renewable Energy Action Plan as compared to the three countries Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia.
