Request to Macedonia to liberalise electricity market

Energy Community Secretariat requests Macedonia to rectify failure to liberalise electricity market in line with binding Energy Community deadline

The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia decided to postpone the opening of the electricity market. Through this decision consumers are not able to choose their electricity supplier. Moreover, the Macedonian government refuses to accept the country's obligation under the Energy Community Treaty and, as a consequence, EU Law.
