EU project presents recommendations for a reform of the energy sector in Moldova

The aims of the project are to increase security of energy supply, to improve energy efficiency and living conditions for the people, and to promote renewable energy

In cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, the EU-funded technical assistance project for reforming the energy sector in Moldova, presented a series of recommendations in order to continue reforms started at a sector level. The outcomes were presented at its closing conference last week.

The aim of the project was to support Moldova in the implementation of significant reforms in the energy sector, focusing on increased security of energy supply, improved energy efficiency and living conditions for the people, and promotion of renewable energy.

After three years of project implementation, Moldova accomplished almost all of its agreed policy targets in the framework of the Programme, having used 90% of a total budget of €40 million.
