Slovakia: targets and renewable energy action plan 2020

The European Energy Network (EnR) took place in Bratislava on February 13 and 14. Miroslav Obert, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy of Slovakia presented new targets and the renewable energy action plan of Slovakia.

He also reported on the energy policies in Slovakia focusing on energy efficiency and renewable energy measaures.

According to the national renewable energy action plan, Slovakia intends to cover 14% in gross final energy consumption with renewable energy by 2020.

It has set a target of 11% of energy savings by 2020 as compared to 2008 (corresponding to about 34.000 TJ).

Energy end-use savings should reach 23%, and primary energy consumption savings should be 20%, both  as compared to 2013
