Energy intensity decreased in Belarus
According to the Vice-Director of the department for energy efficiency, Uladsimir Komaschka, Belarus succeeded in reaching the same levels of energy efficiency indicators as did Finland and Canada. In 1997 Belarus used 650 kg of oil equivalent per 1000 Dollar GDP. This was brought down to 240 kg.
