Upgrade of Serbia's transmissison network planned for the coming six years

Serbia will establish cross-border connections to its neighbouring EU countries

Serbia's power grid operator EMS is planning an upgrade of its transmission network and at the same time to develop new interconnections with its neighbours in the EU. Serbia, who started membership negociatons with the EU this year, intends to fully liberalise its electricity market as of January 2015. The plans for cross-border connections comprise Montenegro, Romania, Macedonia and Bosnia.
