increased capacity of gas exports from Slovakia to Ukraine

The Vojany - Uzohrod gas pipeline was converted to reverse flows to enable gas exports from European Slovak Republik to Ukraine.

The pipeline's capacity will increase to 10 bcm/year by the first quarter of 2015. Ukraine sought to boost its reverse flow capacity (to import gas from Slovakia) to 30 bcm/year, which would cover 54% of its annual gas consumption (55 bcm on average), but faced opposition from the Slovak government as this might threaten gas contracts with Gazprom.
