Increasing energy efficiency in SMEs in Moldova
4The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) supports the programme for the increase of energy efficieny in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Moldova. The participating companies - about 100 - cooperate with local energy efficiency consultants to reduce energy use, improve resource efficiency and cut costs.
The companies benefitting from the programme belong to the sectors agriculture, retail and trade, construction, pharmaceuticals, textiles, tourism, transport and other sectors.
The energy efficiency programme seeks to support the development of SMEs in Moldova, to raise awareness of the benefits of energy-efficient technologies and promote the efficient use of energy resources, and help businesses align their production processes with European standards.
