Fostering of biogas, biomass, small hydro, wind and solar in Ukraine

Ukraine Sustainable Energy Lending Facility (USELF) is supporting the production of renewable energy

The Ukraine Sustainable Energy Lending Facility (USELF) is part of the EBRD's Sustainable Energy Initiative (SEI). The first phase of the EBRD’s Ukraine Sustainable Energy Lending Facility (USELF) will deliver 200 GWh of renewable energy through an innovative combination of EBRD commercial financing, dedicated technical assistance support and concessional grant co-financing.

USELF fosters the use of biogas, biomass, small hydro, wind, and solar energy to generate heat and power. The initiative, totalling € 100 million, consists of €50 million in EBRD commercial financing, €20 million in climate finance from the Clean Technology Fund and €30 million of sponsor equity.

The project is further supported by technical assistance of $8,45 million from the Global Environment Facility.
