ČEZ cancels tender for Temelin nuclear project (Czech Republic)

Czech power utility ČEZ has decided to cancel procurement procedure for the construction of two 1,000 MW units at its Temelin nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic. The group had suspended the tender procedure until an agreement was reached with the Czech government, when it decided not to provide guarantees or stabilisation mechanism for the construction.

ČEZ has announced the cancellation of the tender to the bidders, a consortium led by Westinghouse, a consortium of Škoda JS, Atomstroyexport and Gidropress and also to earlier excluded Areva (which had started international arbitration procedures for being excluded from the tender).
