Polish-German gas pipeline reversed to allow gas imports to Poland

Polish gas transmission operator Gaz-System and German operator GASCADE Gastransport have launched reverse transmission on a firm basis in the Jamal gas pipeline. As a part of the reverse transmission service on a fixed basis, it will be technically possible to import up to 2.3 bcm/year (around 263 000 m3/h) to Poland starting already from 1 April 2014.

In the case of emergency (the suspension of supplies from the East to Germany), it will be possible to receive 620 000 m3/h (i.e. approximately 5.5 bcm/year).
