Austrian company Egger completes EUR 35 mln biomass plant in Romania

Austria’s Egger, the wood processor, has completed a 83MW biomass plant at its site in Radauti, Suceava County, following a EUR 35 million investment.

The new plant is designed to provide heat and energy on the site, and is fueled by wood waste.

According to grid operator Transelectrica, Romania had little over 50MW of incentivized biomass capacities by September 2013.  Egger’s biomass plant is the largest to date.
