Polish power utility ENEA unveils its 2014-2020 strategy

Polish power utility ENEA has unveiled its 2014-2020 strategy. Over this period, investments will reach PLN20bn (€4.8bn).

The Group wants to increase its power generation capacities by 1,075 MW (completion of the construction of unit No. 11 in Kozienice in 2017), by about 500 MWe from energy renewable sources and by about 300 MWe and 1,500 MWt in cogeneration sources and heating networks. ENEA also wants to invest in the distribution and increase margins both in the area of sales and wholesale.
ENEA is a large power generator, distributor and supplier of electricity in Poland, with almost 2.4 million customers and a 12.5% share in sales on the retail market of electricity in Poland. Its distribution network covers 20% of Poland's territory and almost 8% of energy generated in Poland comes from the Group's power plants.
