Romania postpones again energy company listings to 2014

Romania has decided to postpone the sale of minority stakes in energy companies to 2014, instead of late 2013, as part of a 2-year, €4bn agreement with the IMF.

The government plans to list a 10% interest in hydropower generation group Hidroelectrica. In October 2012 a large privatisation plan was announced, including Transelectrica, Transgaz, Hidroelectrica, Nuclearelectrica, Petrom, Romgaz and Tarom. However, the government failed to sell the stakes in 2012 and postponed the deadline for their listing to end-2013.
