Enel Green Power has connected a new PV plant in Romania

Italian-based Enel Green Power (EGP) has connected to the grid the Colibasi photovoltaic (PV) plant, sited in Giurgiu, with a total installed capacity of 6.5 MW bringing the EGP’s Romanian installed solar capacity up to about 26 MW.

The Colibasi plant will produce about 8 GWh of electricity per year, a sufficient amount to power around 7,000 Romanian families, while avoiding the atmospheric emissions of around 4,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year. Colibasi is EGP’s third photovoltaic plant in Romania, following the Berceni 1 and Berceni 2 plants. The company also has about 498MW of wind generation capacity installed in the country while having a total of around 8.7GW of renewable energy capacity installed worldwide. Currently, the company has around 740 operational plants in 16 countries in Europe and the Americas.
