Ukraine commissioned 539 MW of renewable capacity in 2013

According to preliminary figures from the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, the installed renewable capacity in Ukraine grew by 539 MW in 2013, which is 51% more than in 2012.

As of 1 January 2014, the installed capacity of renewable energy facilities operating on feed-in tariffs amounted to 1,216 GW, including 474 MW of solar capacity (from 372 MW in 2012), 371 MW of wind capacity (276 MW in 2012), 75 MW of small hydropower (74 MW in 2012), 17 MW of biomass-fired capacity (from 4 MW in 2012) and 6.5 MW of biogas-fired capacity. Renewable power generation (excluding large-hydro) doubled in 2013 but remained below 1% of the power mix (0.64% in 2013).
