Korkia and Econous Green Energy plan to build 600 MW solar power project in Romania

Korkia and Romanian renewable energy developer Econous Green Energy have joined forces to develop 600 MW of solar energy in Romania.

The first projects are expected to be approved and operational in 2025. 600 MW of photovoltaic capacity should generate 780,000 MWh of electricity, which would supply around 200,000 European households with energy. The projects will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 300,000 kg per year. Romania aims to become a net exporter of renewable energy and strengthen its position in the European energy market. The market is expected to grow by more than 7 GW over the next ten years.
