Eesti Energia implements the 26.5 MW battery project in Estonia

Energy company Eesti Energia announced that it has completed the procurement process for its project to build a 26.5 MW/51 MWh electricity storage facility, Estonia's first grid-scale battery energy storage system (BESS).

The project was to be carried out in cooperation with local companies Diotech OÜ and Solar Wheel OÜ LG Energy Solution as the supplier of the battery technology. The BESS will be built in the Auvere industrial complex in northeastern Estonia and will have the capacity to supply around 75,000 households with electricity for two hours. The plant is scheduled to be commissioned by the beginning of 2025.
