Slovenia exceeded 1 GW of total solar capacity in 2023

Slovenia is one of the ten countries in the European Union with the highest installed solar capacity per capita.

In 2023, Slovenia added 400 MW of solar energy and exceeded 1 GW of total capacity. At the end of 2022, Slovenia operated solar plants with a total capacity of 697.7 MW, and last year's expansion brought the country's total capacity to 1,101.5 MW. According to the European Market Outlook for Solar Power 2023-2027, Slovenia ranked ninth with 593 W per person, representing an increase of 72 % compared to the previous year. According to SolarPower Europe, this was the highest growth in Europe.
