Fortis Energy plans to install up to 2 GW of renewables and H2 in Balkan region

Fortis Energy, the Turkish renewable energy producer, plans to build up to 2 GW of new electricity and green hydrogen generation capacity in Balkan countries over the next five years.

The project includes the construction of onshore wind power, photovoltaic and biogas plants as well as electrolysers for the production of green hydrogen. The plants will be installed in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey.

Fortis Energy plans to build the majority of the capacity in Serbia with a total capacity of 1,036 MW. Around 644 MW of plants will be installed in Albania, while in Bosnia-Herzegovina and North Macedonia will be allocated 252 MW and 40.6 MW of capacity.
