Poland awarded a capacity of 495 MW for solar energy in auctions in 2023
The amount of green electricity offered for sale in this year's auctions reached a total of 88 TWh and had a value of over PLN 40.8 billion, but only around 6 TWh (6.8 percent) was contracted as a result of the auctions for a value of just under PLN 2 million (4.8 percent). This year, the auction for photovoltaic and wind power plants with a capacity of up to 1 MW (AZ/6/2023) attracted the greatest interest. As a result of the auction, just over 4.7 TWh of electricity (corresponding to 22% of the electricity offered) was sold in 67 bids from 52 producers for a total value of over PLN 1.5 billion (25% of the value of the electricity offered).
