56.2 million for the installation of solar power plants in Romania

Romanian transmission system operator (TSO) Transelectrica has received EUR 56.2 million from REPowerEU for the installation of solar power plants and their storage facilities, the modernization of maintenance infrastructure and the improvement of cyber security.

The funding will be used to implement three key investment projects for the efficiency and modernization of the electricity transmission grid. Two of these are being realized by the subsidiaries Smart and Teletrans. The aim is to increase flexibility and reduce bottlenecks in the grid in order to accelerate the integration of renewable energy power plants and increase the resilience of the grid while improving cyber security.
