OMV Petrom has signed a contract to purchase several photovoltaic parks in Romania. The installed capacity of the photovoltaic parks will be about 710 MW. The parks will be one of the most significant photovoltaic projects in Southeastern Europe and will cover the annual consumption of about 280,000 Romanian households. OMV Petrom plans to reach an installed renewable energy capacity of at least 1 GW by 2030. The projects are expected to enter the construction phase in the second quarter of next year. The sites of the PV parks in Teleorman County were selected for their high potential for solar energy. Danish developer Jantzen Renewables ApS is developing the projects. The PV parks have already been granted access to the national electricity transmission grid.
