Ignitis agrees to buy a 300 MW Lithuanian wind project

Ignitis Renewables has signed a conditional purchase agreement with E energija to acquire a 100% stake in two companies for the development of a 300MW onshore wind farm in the Kelmė district of Lithuania.

Ignitis Renewables has signed a conditional purchase agreement with E energija to acquire a 100% stake in two companies for the development of a 300MW onshore wind farm in the Kelmė district of Lithuania. The wind farm will be developed in two phases and is expected to generate electricity to power 250,000 homes in Lithuania in 2025. Acquisition and construction costs could be as high as €550 million. Ignitis Renewables CEO Thierry Aelens commented that this is an important step in expanding the portfolio of wind farm projects in Lithuania and increasing green generation capacity.
