Serbia sets maximum electricity prices for upcoming renewable auctions

The maximum offered price for power from wind is set at €105/MWh, while ceiling solar PV is set at €90/MWh

The government of Serbia has launched renewable energy auctions that include a 400 MW quota for wind farms and 50 MW for solar power plants. The auctions mark the start of a three-year incentive plan to promote renewable energy with a total of 1.3 GW of capacity. Investors have two months to submit their bids. The auctions are expected to lead to lower electricity prices and secure power supply, as well as spur foreign direct investment and economic growth. Technical support for the development of the legal and regulatory framework is provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
