Latvia smart meter rollout completed
AS Sadales tīkls has completed the smart meter rollout program, providing more than 1 million customers in Latvia with remote and automated electricity metering, various data services, and other benefits for market participants. The introduction of innovative technologies forms the basis for increasing Sadales tīkls' customer satisfaction and digital transformation, leading to operational efficiency. Smart meters lead to the development of the electricity market and energy industry, including distributed generation and the achievement of national energy and carbon neutrality targets. The cost of implementing a smart meter connection point was EUR 40, and the total investment of the program was EUR 44.5 million. The program has helped increase Sadales tīkls' efficiency while improving the quality and speed of customer services. The data collected by the smart meters form the basis for important innovations and offer new opportunities for corporate energy management.
