The Law on Industrial Emissions was approved by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova on September 30, 2022, at its plenary session. This is a crucial step in ensuring that the requirements of integrated permitting are met, the idea of using the best available technology is applied, and compliant emission limit values are introduced for big combustion facilities after 2028.

The Secretariat helped the Republic of Moldova create a draft law in this area; the project was completed in December 2017. However, because the legislation was not passed, the Secretariat began dispute resolution proceedings in 2018. The Ministerial Council made this decision at its meeting in 2021. The passage of the law is a significant turning point in assuring adherence to compliance with the conclusion of the Ministerial Council.
