North Macedonian government starts solar auction

The Ministry of Economy of North Macedonia has launched the country's first state auction for large-scale solar power projects.

The North Macedonian government intends to award a 15-year PPA as part of the procurement process. Selected developers will be granted a feed-in tariff in addition to the electricity price.

Interested developers can apply for photovoltaic power plants with an installed capacity of 10 MW, 5 MW, 2 MW and 1 MW until 5 October.

Winners of the auction will receive a 15-year power purchase agreement and will receive a feed-in tariff in addition to the electricity price. The ministry did not provide any information about the expected total capacity.
