Polish TSO invests €1 billion in preparing the grid for offshore wind energy

The investment will go towards substations and transmission lines in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, PSE said.

Poland's transmission system operator Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) plans to invest around PLN 4.5 billion (around €1 billion) by 2030.

It is estimated that by 2040, offshore wind farms will be able to supply the Polish power grid with about 11 GW of capacity, PSE said. This is equivalent to about 20 per cent of Poland's total production potential today.
