Turkish solar tender oversubscribed

Turkey`s Ministry of Energy launched a 1 GW solar PV tender on 8 March and received 131 project proposals with a combined capacity of 9 440 MW (8x times oversubscribed). It is expected the PV projects will be built in size from 10 to 20 MW and located in 36 cities.

Van, Antalya, Gaziantep, and Mardi will be eligiable for 50 MW allocated capacity, while Ankara and Diyarbakır will be assigned 40 MW each. For Usak, Erzurum, Burdur, Mersin, Osmaniye, Yozgat, Batman, Agri, Aksaray and Adiyaman, wiil have the allocated capacity of 30 MW each. 

The Turkish Government set the ceiling price of TRY0.35/kWh ($0.047) and that winners will be awarded a 15-year power purchase guarantee.
