Turkish-Lira tariff scheme for RES projects
Based on Presidential Decision No. 3453, feed-in tariffs and local-component usage bonuses were made available (on a Turkish Lira basis) under the “RER Support Mechanism” (YEKDEM) for renewable energy plants starting operation after 30 June 2021.
Due to foreign currency fluctuations, the new YEKDEM mechanism is based on the Turkish Lira with an adjustment including price index, EUR and USD elements. Besides, the mechanism foresees ceiling prices for the escalated prices, not to exceed a ceiling amount based on USD.
This new scheme differs from the current scheme in that the same price applies for local-component bonuses irrespective of the component type and envisages different prices for biomass-based generation facilities, based on the specific parameters of the facility.
