Germany and Albania strengthen development cooperation
Germany strengthens the development cooperation with Albania, with a key focus on the economy and energy. The financing of the projects will be provided by the German Development Bank (KfW) in the form of loans with favorable conditions. As the first project, the Fierza hydroelectric power plant will be rehabilitated.
Investments in the relevant infrastructure will contribute to solid waste management in a sustainable manner. The program contributes to the implementation of the Solid Waste Master Plan and will affect the harmonization of Albania’s standards with those of the European Union, as well as improving environmental conditions the living conditions of citizens. Planned projects also include the construction of a regional landfill in Berat, as well as the construction of waste transfer stations.
