Albanian Climate Change Law adopted
The Law on Climate Change was adopted by the Albanian Parliament, which provides the legal foundation for the transposition of the Emission Trading Scheme Directive along with the National Energy and Climate Plan (2021-2030).
Among other it envisages the submission of Albania`s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) on reducing greenhouse gas emissions to the UNFCCC; incorporating mitigation and adaptation issues into legislation, strategies, and programs; and creating a comprehensive legal and institutional framework for climate action at the national level.
