Europe`s largest wind power plant to be be constructed in Ukraine
Europe`s largest wind power plant (800 MW) will be constructed by POWERCHINA in southeast Ukraine, in the Donetsk region with the support of local partners.
The electricity to be sold will not be subsidized, which opens a new chapter in wind power development, based on competitive market conditions. As the Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association Mr Konechenkov stated, with this investment the Ukrainian power sector is entering a new phase. The estimated investment volume is 860 million EUR.
The largest onshore wind farm in Europe is currently Fântânele-Cogealac in Romania (600 MW).
