The winners of Hungary`s first technology neutral-tender were announced

The winners of Hungary`s first technology-neutral renewable power auction were announced. MEKH decided about EUR 3 Mio under the renewable power support scheme. The tender is part of the Hungarian government’s METAR-KÁT renewables incentive program, which was launched in 2017 by the Hungarian Government.

Solar developers were awarded 131.4 MW of the capacity in the auction, biomass installation accounted for the remaining 500 kW of capacity. MEKH preselected 186 energy projects for the procurement exercise. The awarded 131.4 MW of solar accounts for 60 projects with 42.8 MW of installations ranking between 300 kW and 1 MW.

In the first category, the final average price was HUF 24.81/kWh and HUF 21.69/kWh in the second. A 20 MW solar plant received the lowest bid , in the value of HUF 20.20/kWh.
