Commission approves scheme in Lithuania to support RES uptake

Under EU State aid rules, the European Commission approved a scheme (€385 million) to support electricity production from renewable energy sources in Lithuania.

The measure will contribute to the EU environmental objectives without the distortion of competition. The scheme also helps Lithuania to reach its national target share of renewable energy sources in gross final energy consumption (set at 38% by 2025).
