Latest RES shares from 2017

According to the latest Eurostat figures the share of renewables in gross final energy consumption in has reached 17.5% in 2017, up from 17% in the European Union. Latvia, Sweden and Finland were the frontrunners.

Eurostat has also published the shares of renewable energy consumption of non-EU members Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia (formerly known as the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia), Serbia, Turkey and Kosovo. Montenegro and Albania had the highest renewables share of 40% and 34.6%.
