A tender for a total of 1 GW of solar power capacity, which was initially supposed to open at the end of January, has been postponed at a later month in 2019. The tender was supposed to be divided into three tenders for three separate locations (500 MW at Sanliurfa-Virasehir, 200 MW at the Hatay-Erzin site and 300 MW at the Nigde-Bor location). Local content requirements – 60% modules from domestic manufacturers – were included in the tender. The re-issued procurement may include storage options.
